Do we know whether or not Zimmerman was given any kind of initial medical treatment at the shooting scene?

Reports say he was give "first aid" by officers at the scene, but if you look at that video, his clothes aren't even rumpled or creased. This is NOT someone who had been in a "life-or-death struggle"

My problem is that we don't yet know how much time, and what events (including first aid), transpired between the shooting and the video. If the video is hours later and involved a change of clothes, that's one thing. If it's 20 minutes later and the same clothes, yes, it's quite another.

I'm not going to assume one way or the other.

Well, is it SOP for police to allow someone they're detaining to change clothes before being taken to the station?
I've never heard of that happening; it begs the question of why they would have done so, if indeed they did

I've read reports that the police were familiar with (on a first-name basis with) "George." He was a wannabe cop who was not shy about calling police (and, in fairness, it appears undisputed that the neighborhood had suffered some recent burglaries).

Although I am making no assumptions (and do not know SOP if there is one here), it is at least plausible that, given that familiarity and the understanding that Zimmerman WAS going to be taken in for questioning in any event, the cops might have said, "Sure, grab a change of shirt first."

I guess we'll learn soon. Also, the nose is either broken or it ain't. We'll learn that soon too.

true enough

According to GMA, and I really wish I had a timeline to support it, the surveillance came in less than an hour after the incident.

and why would police allow someone to change clothes, and not AT LEAST keep the clothes he was wearing as evidence, especially if it's evidence that would help exonerate their "buddy"?

This whole thing just plain stinks

The police report states, "Zimmerman was also bleeding from the nose and back of his head. ... Zimmerman was placd in the rear of my police vehicle and was given first aid by the SFD."

So either Z and his lawyer have gotten the police to lie in the report or this video means that the SFD did a reasonable job treating Z.

The clothing is, of course, another matter.

The cognitive dissonance here is AMAZING. So many comments, I've seen, trying to distort the timeline, trying to claim that he received medical attention....

The guy is supposed to have a broken nose and have had his head slammed into the concrete. Yet not a bruise. No blood.

This signals misconduct by the police to me.

At the very least, you'd think with the injuries he's claimed, they would have stuck a bandage on him

Something tells me that whatever happened, they didn't have a plan from minute one. I think they figured out the spin later to spare Zimmerman. Even that's speculation on my part, not backed up. But it certainly does not match.

A desperate post-facto cover-up certainly fits

Like the linked article itself? "The video was authenticated by the city of Sanford public information office. Although it’s unclear what time it was taken, it was likely taken after Zimmerman was administered first aid at the shooting scene."

No blood? The police report (http://www.wesh.com/pdf/30793508/detail.html) states that Zimmerman's back was "wet and covered with grass" and that he was "also bleeding from the nose and back of his head."

That's too detailed to be a mere mistake. It's either true or it's a lie.

LOL, I didn't see whose comment it was. But, do run away, run! Don't mind my pointing out a huge factual whole in your march to justice.

I really don't understand all this defending Zimmerman stuff. He shot an unarmed boy. Dead. I have yet to hear one single fact that makes me see a shred of reasonable self defense. If he gets off scot-free without so much as an investigation, it sets a very ugly precedence.

Unfortunately, that precedent was set in the South over 100 years ago.
