Letting 5 MILLION more gallons of oil out is a solution? Jesus H Tap Dancing CHRIST, heads need to be rolling about this fuck-up. I mean that literally.
Are they saying that 2.5 MILLION gallons a day are being released into the Gulf? For the last 12 WEEKS? The Exxon Valdez spill was 30 million gallons and "[a]lmost 20 years after the spill, a team of scientists at the University of North Carolina found that the effects are lasting far longer than expected. The team estimates some shoreline Arctic habitats may take up to 30 years to recover." This is orders of magnitude larger than that and the clowns at BP are saying that the cleanup "will take until Fall" and ANYBODY believes them?
EVERY executive at the Department of Mines and Minerals needs to resign and be prosecuted for negligence. BP needs to have its assets seized for fraud and negligence. I'm not altogether sure Obama shouldn't resign over this. It is a fuck up of MONUMENTAL proportions that is going to fuck up the environment of the ENTIRE WORLD for decades to come. I cannot believe how this is being played down
-EDIT- OK, so, reading further, I see that anywhere between .5 and 1.5 million gallons a day are being released IF WE BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT AND THE COMPANY RESPONSIBLE -I wouldn't be at all surprised to find the numbers have been wildly deflated. Simple math tells us that's between 45 and 135 million gallons that have been released in the last 90 days. HOW MANY GALLONS WILL IT TAKE TO IRREPERABLY POLLUTE ALL THE WORLDS OCEANS? Do YOU know, cause I sure don't.
