I just (last night) saw the film version of "Anonymous Rex" by Eric Garcia. Let me say, up front, that this is one of my favorite books. I should have been put on guard by the "A Sci Fi Channel Film" tag-line.
I'm actually torn by the film. Comparing it to the book, it failed miserably at relaying the sub-text, missing the point of the book completely. As a film, on its own, it wasn't horrible.
I just can never understand why you buy the rights to a book and then throw out 95% of what was IN the book.
