Writer's Block: Heroes and villains

I always liked The Beast. His forbidding exterior hid a kind and cultured man.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Phantom For starters, he rides a white horse, has a wolf as pet and is mysterious yet in fact just an equally kind and honest, upright man with a sense for what is right and wrong who does nothing but his inherited job. Also, he lives in a cave.
He defends the weak, he is an anti-tyrant. One just shouldn´t fuck with his friendship or him (unless one is his wife, of course;).

My main role-model, off course, was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modesty_Blaise. I bought every single issue of the swedish cartoon magazine Agent X9 to read about her and Willie Garvin, who, most unfortunately, seldom exists in RL (Real Life) though I´ve had one or the other friend a bit like him (though nobody can seriously live up to the standards set) but they like to live so far away.
And,
then there was Calamity Jane as pictured in Lucky Luke. She very much incorporates my general approach to men. They just often don´t get my idea of romance so I am taking up riding again. And kung fu.

I remember reading (secretly) my older sister's Modesty Blaise pulp paperbacks when I was 10 or 12. They were great fun
