The thing is..."no".
I'm not saying I won't make an effort to read more female or POC authors, but what I WILL NOT DO is forgo reading something that looks interesting because it's written by a straight white man. Call me a bigot if you like, but the gender/sexuality/race of an author really doesn't matter to me. I choose books based on my interests, or what "catches my eye".

-EDIT- I started looking through a list of the books I'd read in the last year or so. I realized I had absolutely NO idea of the sexuality - with one or two exceptions - of the authors of the books I've read, so I couldn't tell if they fell into the "approved category" or not. I suppose I could research it more, but then it begs the question of whether or not authors are "out", and frankly, I just DO NOT CARE. It is a level of scrutiny about authors I simply will not engage in simply because I'm reading their book.
Also, with several of the authors, I've really no idea about their ethnicity. Frankly, this is too much work.
