INDIVIDUALS need their rights protected, not states.
The DOMA ruling was, in my view, correct in that it is arguably protecting the rights of individuals against the whims of the states.
The ruling striking down the voting rights act as wrong in that it arguably will lead to states having the ability to make laws that will restrict the voting rights of individuals.
Simple as that; INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS MATTER. "States Rights" are a red herring too often used to restrict those rights.
