Second Hand Sally
Jan. 16th, 2012 07:58 pmThere's an anti-smoking ad they're playing here in California that is the most egregious example of fear-mongering I have ever seen. Joe Goebbels would be proud. A young woman exhales smoke ON HER BALCONY that manages to waft upstairs, OPEN A WINDOW, pass by an adult sitting on a couch, OPEN a door, and -you guessed it- enter a nursery where it hovers over a cradle that contains a baby.
This commercial is an insult to the intelligence of a not-particularly-bright four-year-old. There are lots of viable, bona fide arguments to be made against smoking, including that of second-hand smoke, but this commercial, frankly, is an embarrassment to logic, science, and reality. It makes me angry every time I see it
