I saw the performance, whilst waiting through the interminable kerfluffle for "Fringe" to start. To quote myself at the time, to my roommate, "What the FUCK did Tears For Fears ever do to HIM?"

All these wannabes sound like they have the same -BAD- voice coach; they're all about furbelows and histrionics. ICK

You know, I'm not usually an indecisive man, except, for some reason, when it comes to travelling. I've been thinking about going to Portland OR in October for the Third Annual HP Lovecraft Film Festival. While this sounds like fun, it could also just be a hideous geek-fest. Also, I'm not familiar with Portland at all, only having driven through there once, about 10 years ago. My questions, therefore, are these;

1) What is there to do in Portland on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday night?
2) What are the "fun" areas? with lots of bars, restaurants and clubs in them?
3) Generally speaking, what's the weather like in Portland in the beginning of October?
4) I've found a hotel on NE Holladay, which is nearish the theatre ( NE Sandy Blvd) is this a good area, or one in which I should fear for my life?
5) What areas should I avoid at all costs?

Help me Obi-wan, you're my only hope
