Smile like a donut
Nov. 27th, 2006 06:54 amBack to work today after a four-day weekend. Will I remember how to do my job? I THINK I will. Thanksgiving was nice; lots of screaming kids running around like little engines of destruction.
It's cold and wet out, the kind of day just made for building a fire, having a Calvados, and reading a good book; but NOOOO, I have to venture forth to work. BLEEECH
ALSO, Michael Richards just needs to shut up, already. It has crossed the line from "apology" to shameless self-aggrandizement. What he did was not "symptomatic of a larger problem in American society" it was a temper-tantrum from a has-been comedian, period. Making more of it than that is pretty pointless.
Does racism exist in American society? Of course it does. But Michael Richards is just a fool who deserves nothing more than our contempt, not our continued attention.
