I singled out the Catholic Church because they have been instrumental in organizing the protests in a way that no other church has. The fact of the matter is that most illegal immigration coming from Central or South America is, of course, of that religion. They don't aggravate the problem, but they DO have more to gain from the issue than other religions do. I believe , on this issue, they are acting hypocritically, or at least disingenuously.
What brought it on was my frustration with people who argue that being against illegal immigration makes one either racist or against immigration as a whole. They are two separate issues, and they have to be thought of in that way, or no solution will ever be found.
