“HP Lovecrafts’ Beyond the Wall of Sleep”
I’ve seen low-budget movies. This film, however, seemed to be entirely financed by returning pop-bottles for their deposit.
Why is it that bringing Lovecraft to the screen always appears to be the preserve of the most inarticulate and amateurish film-makers? people who, moreover, have no understanding of or respect for the source material.
Gore is no substitute for having something to SAY, people.
This film is wretched; I wouldn’t even recommend its viewing for the purposes of torture at Gitmo.

It took me ages to get into Lovecraft, simply because of all the crappy movies based on his works.
It's just not right.
and Beyond the Wall of Sleep reminds me of The Smithereens "Behind the Wall of Sleep." I must go listen to them now.
